Joe The Carver's Original Wood Carvings Gallery
The need to experience again his memories of the outdoors, and his trips into the wilderness were the catalyst that introduced Joe to wood carving. Joe discovered "the use of ones hands, mind, and heart is good for all man."

Joe's self description of his progress in the media of carving is best described as one who's love of working with his hands, challenge of creativity within his mind, and the passion within his heart as his motivators to success.
The sum of his experiences as a Architectural designer, machine designer, and trained craftsman come together as one when he is able to perceive a concept in his mind, visualize its form in the third dimension, and delineate the form with his hands by his carving tools and wood. His skill as an artist has progressed to a point where he selects his carving subject based on the natural beauty of the wood. Joe uses the natural character of wood to enhance his work. As an artist, Joe sees the character of wood as a key element of his expression.
